Buying ND-Grad Filters
It seems that after a tripod, graduated neutral density filters are the next most useful piece of equipment for a budding landscape photographer since they allow the correct exposure of interesting foregrounds while retaining sky detail. D5100 v D60
The D5000 replacement I mentioned a few weeks ago has been announced! The D5100 appears to be a true upgrade to the D60 for the following reasons:
11 focus points;
video recording;
live-view and articulated screen;
auto-bracketing;

Is the Nikon D5000 a worthwhile upgrade from a...
My DSLR recently reached its two year anniversary and curiosity caused me to do some research into whether it was still the right camera for me. I discounted the D3100 as being too similar to the D60 (and does not work with my ML-L3 wireless remote shutter release), plus the D5000 is selling at a substantial discount at the moment due to rumours of its imminent replacement.

[Photo 101] Camera Settings for Continuous...
On a recent whale watching trip I found it frustrating that my Nikon D60 could only shoot a small number of frames in a row before it paused, usually at the most inopportune moment!
During the pause it was clearly saving the frames to the memory card but reducing the size of each frame from 11MB RAW files to normal quality JPEGs only increased the run from 3 to 4 shots. Further experimentation...
